Home staging began as a novel idea in the 1970s, dreamt up by real estate agent Barb Schwarz. Her background in theater inspired the concept of “setting the stage” for prospective buyers to see properties in their best light. The home staging industry launched by Schwarz — who now lives in Hawaii — has grown exponentially.
