Universal Interiors Exemplifies Quality Design
Designer Nancy Schnur consults with clients in their space, assessing wants, needs and reality.

We’re shining a light on top local designers, innovative storage solutions, European imports and more. In this special section, Style Spotlight, which appeared in the September 2018 print issue of Hawaii Home + Remodeling, we highlight the latest style trends brought to you by professionals changing the game in Hawaii.
For Nancy Schnur, interior designer and owner of Universal Interiors, quality design starts before she touches pen to paper. She takes the time to consult clients in their space, assessing wants, needs and reality.
“Good design is a process,” says Schnur. “There are always factors to consider before spending time and energy on an idea.” Schnur draws on her diverse background of design experience, ranging from residential, retail, and hospitality projects, to fine-tune her own design methodology, which emphasizes quality and long-term enjoyment.
Schnur’s boutique design firm offers a full suite of services, including educational seminars, drawings and project management. With an emphasis on thoughtful place-making and universal design, this designer considers all factors before embarking on a redesign. “Rarely is a project a blank slate,” says Schnur, “But the greatest joy in my profession is seeing the finished product through my clients’ eyes.”
