Restoring Family Furnishings
This mango-wood furniture was passed down from three generations of family.

This mango-wood furniture is given new life in the Kai family’s open-concept kitchen, living and dining area in Kailua, Oahu. It has been in Mike Kai’s family for three generations, originally at his grandparents’ home in Hilo on the Big Island. Kai’s cousin restored the mango wood, and had it reupholstered by John’s Upholstery in a refreshing turquoise fabric. An assortment of pillows from Noho Home brings even more modern Hawaiiana to the piece.
