Gentry Homes, the developer that has brought more than 13,000 homes to Hawaii over the last 50 years, announced the planned retirement of its president and CEO, Robert “Bob” Brant, and the appointment of senior vice president and CFO Quentin Machida to replace him in leading the company, effective May 9, 2018.

Brant is credited with expanding Gentry Homes, especially within the master-planned community of Ewa by Gentry, home to more than 8,300 Hawaii families. Throughout his 18 years of leadership, he led the development of single-family homes in Mahinui by Gentry, the construction of the Kanehili community for the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and the acquisition of land for future development.

Brant’s focus on green building helped Gentry Homes earn recognition by the City & County of Honolulu, receiving an Environmental Hero Award for water and energy conservation.

Gentry Homes, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary of business this year, is grateful for Brant’s leadership and looks forward to continued growth under Machida’s leadership. Machida has worked for Gentry Homes since 1990. Together, their guidance helped the company to develop new programs that have increased the efficiency of homes and reduced the carbon footprint of developments.
