Editor’s Notes January 2018: Introducing the HH+R team
I’d love to introduce you to the people who write, edit and design the pages of Hawaii Home + Remodeling.

We’re a small-but-mighty team that is passionate about Hawaii homes being the best they can be. We love sharing stories of homeowners’ remodeling and new construction projects, detailing the work that went into each and introducing you to the companies that can make your projects a dream come true.
I’ve been writing and editing for the magazine for nearly four years and, a few months ago, took on the role of editor. I’m excited about the opportunity to lead the content team for this magazine that has served as our community’s resource for home and remodeling inspiration for 37 years.
Joining me on the team are associate editors Bianca Sewake and Tyler Shiroma, whose names are probably already familiar to you. Both joined our company as interns, then in full-time positions, and have been writing for the magazine and our digital platforms for more than a year.
Our team explores recently-remodeled and newly-built homes, interviews homeowners, builders and designers, to share their stories and provide you with inspiration and ideas for your next project. We window shop in showrooms and interview experts on the newest trends, materials and products for the home.
And bringing it all onto the pages of our magazine are art director Cody Kawamoto, who has more than a decade of experience designing magazines, and associate art director Amy Ngo, who joined us last summer.
If you’re thinking of having improvements made to your home, we highly encourage you to attend the BIA-Hawaii Home Building & Remodeling Show Jan. 26-28 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. We’ll be there too, so stop by to meet us, talk with us about your projects and pick up issues of the magazine for more inspiration.
Aloha,
Stephanie Silverstein, Editor
