Editor’s Notes

My house is going to look like it belongs in Hawaii Home + Remodeling.

I’ll show it to you one day. I’m a few furnishing upgrades away, but I’ve taken what I now believe to be the first step in making my home camera ready for the magazine: Tidying. And I don’t mean a light dusting or fluffing throw pillows.

I’ve adopted the KonMarie Method from “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up,” a best-selling book by Marie Kondo.

It’s simple, really, but can have a profound affect on your life when done according to the method: quickly and completely, in one fell swoop. You’ll have to read the book for the details, but essentially you handle each item in your home by category and individually; if it sparks joy, you keep it, if it doesn’t, you discard it.

I encourage you to look around. If your house feels cluttered and in need of tidying, give the KonMarie Method a try. When your home is ready for the magazine, give us a call. We’d love to share in your joy.
