Check out this Polynesian-Inspired Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel
The homeowner paired a popular home trend with her own personal style.

When it came to her kitchen renovation, homeowner Tiffany Thompson knew she wanted to combine the look of the popular farmhouse trend with her own personal tastes.
She enlisted the help of All Things New to achieve her dream kitchen, with a couple of must-haves on her wish list: open shelving, a huge sink, a leveled island and lighter-colored flooring.
“I wanted an open, airy, simple and functional kitchen,” says Thompson. “I wanted to be able to see everything so there wasn’t a chance for clutter to build up; we don’t use what we can’t see, which is why open shelves were a must for me.”

The overall goal was to tie in her Polynesian roots to this popular home design trend.
“The kitchen had a lot of potential considering that it’s rested under a vaulted ceiling with a lot of open space,” shares Richard Breaux of All Things New. “The color scheme was really outdated with a lot of warm darker colors. After I talked with the homeowner, we agreed to lighten up the space with lighter colors.”
Breaux and his team got to work, removing all the cabinets and flooring. The existing cramped pantry space was revamped into a large walk-in space for more storage. The sliding barn door that conceals it was stained to match the open shelving.
The kitchen now features all new cabinetry, as well as a custom-made butcher block island.
“The shaker-style off-white cabinets along with the white subway tile backsplash are a homeowner favorite when developing a farmhouse kitchen,” shares Breaux.

storage.
The final piece to the design was the flooring, which really brought the space together and changed the atmosphere of the place.
“We know that the homeowner has very strong pride and ties to her culture and how she was brought up,” mentions Breaux. “This design married both of these into her kitchen and main living space.
Says Thompson: “I enjoyed seeing everything just coming together as I envisioned it. What was really refreshing was having a crew working on my renovation that I could trust.
“I love everything about my kitchen, but especially the island,” she adds. “I like to cook and entertain, so it’s perfect for both.”
