3 Ways to Improve Your Bedroom to Get Better Sleep
Ideas to help you catch up on some Z’s.

A good night’s rest can make all the difference to your overall well-being. So if you find yourself feeling sluggish and dozing off during the day, then you are most likely suffering from some form of sleep deprivation. Anxiety, stress and a messed-up sleep schedule all factor into the quality of rest you are getting. The CDC recommends that adults need at least seven hours of sleep every night. Here are some tips to help you get back into bed and enjoy a good slumber.
- Create a soft and sleepy bedroom. Create the right sleep environment by cozying up your bedroom. Make sure it’s quiet, dark and comfortable. Go for quality bedding and invest in a high-performance mattress and pillows.
- Stick to a ritual. Consistency is key when it comes to sleep. Make sure you are going to bed around the same time every night and waking up around the same time every morning (even on weekends). Start a bedtime routine to get yourself ready to hit the hay, from disconnecting from devices at least 30 minutes before bed to lowering the lights to a more appropriate nighttime setting.
- Incorporate healthy habits. It’s not just how you prepare yourself to fall asleep, but what you do throughout the day that can impact how well-rested you will be. Mixing in healthy habits can help you sleep better in the long run. Consider avoiding large meals and caffeine before bedtime; exercising during the day to wear yourself out; and keeping work out of the bedroom.
